Money Tree – Pachira aquatica 4"
Money Tree – Pachira aquatica
A classic houseplant for good reason. Pachira aquatica, commonly known as the Money Tree, has glossy, hand-shaped leaves and an easygoing nature that makes it equally at home in a living room, office, or plant-filled jungle.
Young plants have a compact, leafy appearance, while mature plants can develop into impressive indoor trees with a broad canopy. Many are grown with braided trunks, although the plant naturally develops a woody trunk as it ages.
Despite the tropical appearance, Money Trees are relatively forgiving houseplants. Give them bright, indirect light, a well-draining potting mix, and allow the upper portion of the soil to dry between waterings. They’re much happier being slightly dry than sitting in constantly wet soil.
Care
Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Tolerates medium light, although growth may be slower. A little gentle morning or evening sun is usually fine.
Water: Water thoroughly, then allow the top few inches of soil to dry before watering again. Avoid keeping the soil continuously wet.
Humidity: Appreciates moderate humidity but adapts well to normal household conditions.
Temperature: Prefers warm conditions around 65–80°F. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Growth: Can become a substantial indoor tree over time. Pruning is easy and can be used to maintain a bushier, more compact shape.
Easygoing, architectural, and capable of becoming a real statement plant — a great choice if you want something with the presence of an indoor tree without particularly demanding care.
