Elevate your plant collection with the Hoya pachyclada x parasitica hybrid, an exceptional cultivar engineered by nature and selection to showcase distinct morphological synergy. This hybrid blends the strict succulent characteristics of Hoya pachyclada with the vigorous vegetative habits of Hoya parasitica (syn. verticillata).
The foliage is characterized by a significantly thickened cuticle and dense parenchymal tissue inherited from H. pachyclada, providing excellent internal water storage capacity. From H. parasitica, the hybrid takes an elongated, lanceolate-to-ovate leaf geometry and conspicuous secondary venation. The leaves present a smooth, glabrous texture, often developing distinct anthocyanin pigmentation along the margins under high-intensity light (sun-stressing).

Physiological Features & Adaptation
  • Xeric Leaf Anatomy: Heavily coriaceous, succulent leaves with a thick waxy cuticle that minimizes transpirational water loss.
  • Inflorescence & Morphology: Umbellate clusters arising from persistent spur-like structures (peduncles). The blooms feature a reflexed, porcelain-white corolla and a glossy, star-shaped central corona emitting a rich scent complex high in sweet terpenoids.
  • Vining Growth Habit: Combines a semi-rigid node structure with flexible, twining internodes, allowing the plant to readily climb a support structure or trail elegantly from a hanging vessel.
  • CAM-Like Resilience: Operates with high water-use efficiency, making it incredibly resilient against prolonged dry spells.
